Tonight UCT’s Columbus councils will be coming together for a happy hour meet and greet to connect and share. This will be a first-ever event of this kind for Columbus’ councils. Our mission – should we choose to accept it, and we do! – is to reach out to our fellow UCTers, compare notes on our individual council activities, and possibly plan future joint events.
With the creation of new alternative councils in Columbus, we think this is a perfect time to come together with possible new ideas to revitalize the traditional local councils, to introduce longtime members to the new alternative councils, and to celebrate the common passion for volunteerism and community service that makes UCT what it is.
If you are a UCT member and are in the area, join us for “Council Happy Hour Meet-N’-Greet” at Average Joe’s located at 4545 Kenny Road in Columbus from 4-7 p.m. We’ll have a private area reserved, as well as complimentary pizzas and drink specials. Come when you can, and stay as long as you’d like!
We will also be collecting items for our annual convention community service project for the Children’s Hunger Alliance. So if you want, please bring some of the following:
- Sidewalk chalk, coloring books, crayons
- Construction paper, children’s books, rulers and folders
- Bubbles, puzzles, jump ropes
We hope to see you there!
