First and foremost, for the current member year of April 1, 2017 through March 31, 2018, nothing has changed to the Medal of Honor program. Everything you’ve already completed or plan to complete will count towards the current program.
But starting April 1, 2018, you’ll notice some differences in the Medal of Honor program. We’ve simplified it and made it easier for more local councils to participate.
The top prize is now Platinum: a $750 award with certificate, followed by:
- Gold: $400 award with certificate
- Silver: $200 award with certificate
- Bronze: $100 award with certificate
We’re asking councils to focus their efforts on three categories: maintaining fraternal traditions, participating in community service by volunteering and making donations, and creating awareness about UCT and your local council through traditional and social media.
There are plenty of ways to earn points to succeed, it just takes a little planning and dedication.
Medal winners will still be recognized at the UCT convention, in The Sample Case and on our Facebook page. We will still continue to accept the Medal of Honor books, but if you’d like to condense your council’s work into a small folder or send it all together by email that’s fine too.
This is a great opportunity to try something new and step outside of your comfort zone.
Whether you’re working on this year’s Medal of Honor or thinking about next year’s, you can always contact Linda Fisher and Kate Chillinsky with questions. We are here to help!
