Allow me to introduce myself: I’m Kate Chillinsky, the new marketing manager at UCT. I’ve been working here for a few weeks now, but in reality I’ve been a part of UCT my whole life. (I’ll get to that in just a moment.)
I recently moved back to Central Ohio with my husband and two sons, after living in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania for six years. During that time, I worked at the NBC news station. I started off as an associate producer, quickly worked my way up to Creative Services writer, editor and producer, and then finished my career there as the social media manager.
Before moving east, I spent two years at WBNS, 10-TV right here in Columbus, Ohio. I landed a job there after graduating from the E.W. Scripps School of Journalism at Ohio University. Go Bobcats!
And now I’m back home. And back at UCT, which is my home away from home.
I’m born and raised UCT. I grew up when the company was still headquartered at the old building. I spent my summers at UCT conventions and Junior Golf tournaments. I remember eating those delicious sandwiches that Jack and Barbara Weiland would bring every year to Orlando. And eating as much ice cream as I wanted, thanks to Tom and Jerry (Smith and Thomas, not the cartoon characters).
People like the Whitmores, Schneiders, Stoughs, Baxters, Engels, Owens, Vogels, McDonalds and McKays were household names in my family. And that Ed Stuebe kringle always made the holidays complete! (Thanks Dianna for keeping the tradition).
And of course, all of the employees here at the home office who have been like family to me and the ones who actually are!
I’m excited to be back home and back at UCT. I look forward to working with all of our members and finding new ways to help UCT grow. Feel free to contact me: kchillinsky@uct.org
